Apply for Sears think[box] Student Project Fund

The Sears think[ box ] Student Project Fund has been renewed thanks to support from the Codrington Foundation, Fran and Jules Belkin and Brandon Palmer (CWR ’00). The fund will provide material support to students working on personal projects, team projects, design competitions, entrepreneurial activities and more.

Previous student projects include:

  • Apollo Medical Devices – A novel blood tester that transformed a $2,500 project fund award into over $700,000 in funding.
  • Everykey – The wristband or pendant that unlocks your phone, car, and websites

Other projects have included a short film festival, a novel wind turbine design, support for students at the Consumer Electronics Show and much more.

Funding is available to undergraduate and graduate students, and project topics can include engineering, art, science, humanities or any other topic.

Applications for up to $2,500 per project will be accepted. All applicants will be notified of their award status within one month of submitting the online application.

To be eligible for think[ box ] student project funds, the applicant or at least one person on the team must be a student at Case Western Reserve University at the time of application submission. Teams that are working on sponsored research projects are not eligible to apply.
