On Sunday, Case Western Reserve University celebrated the 2019 commencement with an all-university convocation in the morning and individual school ceremonies throughout the day.
That commencement structure began in 1985, when the university held its first outdoor, university-wide commencement ceremony. While events are all held indoors today, 1985 set the pace for what would become Case Western Reserve’s commencement schedule.
Since 1985, Case Western Reserve has held commencement with a morning convocation followed by school diploma ceremonies with few exceptions.
