Earlier this year, Impossible Foods and Bon Appétit Management Co. teamed up to test out the new and improved “plant-based burger for meat lovers” recipe. To test it, they gave Bon Appetit chefs throughout the country a chance to compete for the best “outside the bun” recipe using the new formula. Chef Derek Ivancic from Leutner Commons is one of the top four finalists.
Students can try his tamale recipe Friday, March 1, from 5:30 p.m. at Leutner Commons until they are gone. Those who wish to help Ivancic in the competition can post photos of his dish to Instagram and tag @bonappetitcwru.
