Award-winning Brazilian artist Angélica Dass will be on campus to photograph individuals of all races, ethnicities, gender expressions and experiences, for a public art installation next spring.
The 456 Project focuses on the role that the environment plays in exacerbating the risk of sexual violence and a call to action using art to reclaim the public space.
This open call, hosted by the Social Justice Institute, is meant to bring together voices, identities and humanity to stand with the artist and regain Cleveland’s public spaces as spaces for freedom, expression and tranquility. All individuals are welcome.
Photographs will be used in a public art project in 2019; this initiative is part of the Creative Fusion program supported by The Cleveland Foundation.
Volunteers can register to be photographed Monday, Nov. 26, or Tuesday, Nov. 27, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Crawford Hall, Room A13, through the artist’s website.
Walk-ins also are welcome. The process is brief and requires no preparation.
