All students are invited to learn about the project-based Global Health Design course, which includes a study abroad experience in Uganda during spring break.
The Case Western Reserve University Anthropology-Engineering Collaborative (AEC) offers this unique course, which applies social science and engineering skills and expertise to address global health issues in Uganda. The AEC is part of a longstanding collaboration between CWRU and Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda.
CWRU students collaborate with students at Makerere University and the Case Western Reserve student group Global Health Design Collaborative to design and implement solutions to specific health issues in Luwero, Uganda.
The course may be taken as either ENGR 350U or ANTH 300. Students who enroll for three credits (graded) may count the course as a general education requirement. For engineering students, it can count as a social science credit, and for Arts & Sciences students, it can count toward the Global & Cultural Diversity requirement.
An information session will be held Friday, Nov. 16, from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. in Nord Hall, Room 204.
The session will provide an opportunity for students to meet the course’s faculty leaders and hear from students who have participated in the past.
Pizza will be provided for lunch.
