Monday’s trivia question asked participants to select which musical act had not played at Case Western Reserve University. While Rusted Root, Pink Floyd and The Temptations have all entertained CWRU students on campus, The Proclaimers have never made it to University Circle.
The Temptations performed at a concert sponsored by both Case Institute of Technology and Western Reserve University March 17, 1967, shortly before they federated. Tickets were $2.25 for students and $3 for all others.
A few years later, on Nov. 6, 1971, Pink Floyd played on campus, performing for over 3,000 people at what might have been the group’s first Cleveland show.
Rusted Root was brought to campus by University Program Board to play a concert on Oct. 27, 1997. It created quite the buzz and was reported on in several articles for The Observer.
Only 26 percent of respondents correctly guessed The Proclaimers; many more (44 percent) thought that Pink Floyd had never played at CWRU.
