Kelvin Smith Library to offer Graduate Student Workshop Series

Due to popular demand, Kelvin Smith Library’s Graduate Student Workshop Series will be offered again this spring. Working in partnership with the Lillian & Milford Harris Library, the Judge Ben C. Green Law Library and the Cleveland Health Sciences Library, Kelvin Smith Library will host a series of workshops to support graduate students as they prepare for book and journal publications, conference presentations, and other forms of scholarly research.

The workshop series will explore research skills, digital scholarship tools, publication strategies, marketing tools and copyright.

The series will be composed of the following workshops:

  • Session 1—“Increasing Your Scholarly Impact for Graduate Students”: Tuesday, Feb. 13, from 3 to 4 p.m.
  • Session 2—“Research Services, Tools & Resources for Graduate Students”: Thursday, Feb. 22, from 4 to 5 p.m.
  • Session 3—“Digital Scholarship, Services, Data Visualization and Data Management and Preservation for Graduate Students”: Tuesday, March 6, from 3 to 4 p.m.
  • Session 4—“Leveraging Your Rights as an Author: Copyright, Publishing and Author Rights for Graduate Students”: Thursday, March 29, from 4 to 5 p.m.
  • Session 5— “Where to Publish: How to Select and Target Publishers for Graduate Students”: Tuesday, April 10, from 3 to 4 p.m.
  • Session 6—“Marketing Your Scholarship and Yourself for Graduate Students”: Thursday, April 24, from 4 to 5 p.m.
