On Saturday night, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine students sang, danced and performed skits and medical parodies—all for a good cause.
The students’ annual Doc Opera production raised funds for the Student-Run Health Clinic and Circle Health Services.
The Student-Run Health Clinic offers underserved populations in Greater Cleveland no-cost acute care.
Operated and founded by students from the School of Medicine, Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing and the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, the clinic is a collaborative environment that teaches students how to work together as physicians, nurses and social workers.
When patients come to the clinic, they have a case manager, patient advocate and student assessment team, who all work together to provide care for such conditions as sore throats, sinus problems, physicals and wellness exams, and more.
