To cap off the Case Western Reserve University Spartans football team’s undefeated regular season, the team received at at-large bid to the NCAA Division III playoffs. The team tallied its fourth time appearing in the playoffs (its second time in the second round) and now has played in six games in the NCAA Division III playoffs.
In the first round this year, the Spartans beat Illinois Wesleyan University 28-0 for the second post-season victory in program history. The team’s last post-season win came in 2007 with a 21-20 victory over Widener.
This year, the Spartans fell to No. 2-ranked University of Mount Union 45-16 in the second round.
