The Case Western Reserve University Motorsports team and their “mini baja” off-road vehicle placed first in acceleration and overall dynamic at the Midnight Mayhem racing event in Louisville, Kentucky, Sept. 23. They received 42nd place overall as they were using this competition to train new drivers.
The car is almost entirely designed and built by undergraduate students at Sears think[box]. Aside from the shock absorbers, tires, safety equipment, etc., the team members fabricate the parts.
CWRU Motorsports will be attending all three official competitions in 2018, held in Maryland, Kansas and Oregon. See the dates and locations at students.sae.org/cds/bajasae.
