A documentary being screened on campus Sunday asks the question: “Can a modern democracy impose a prolonged military occupation on another people while retaining its core democratic values?”
The Law in These Parts, a 90-minute piece released in 2013 by Israeli filmmaker Ra’anan Alexandrowicz, will be shown Sunday, Nov. 6, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Tinkham Veale University Center ballroom. The Radical Student Union is hosting the event.
The documentary features interviews with military judges, prosecutors and others involved in the development of laws and rules that govern the West Bank and other territories that Israel has controlled for nearly four decades.
