The Case Western Reserve community is invited to discuss and learn about data visualization at the 2014 Visualization Symposium hosted by Information Technology Services (ITS). Faculty, staff and students will present on the visualization methods and activities they have developed or adapted to support their research and scholarship. This half-day event will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, May 9 in the Anne M. and M. Roger Clapp Reading Room of the Kelvin Smith Library.
ITS will be live tweeting during the event via @CWRUITS. Members of the university are encouraged to tweet questions and comments regarding data visualization to @CWRUITS before, during and following the event with the hashtag “#VizCWRU.”
The symposium aims to begin establishing a visualization community of practice. Visualization, or the practice of representing information in a visual form, is challenging to adopt into the activities of a research program. ITS is committed to providing consulting and material resources for visualization, as well as facilitating connections amongst members of the campus community.
