Tian Liu, assistant professor of pathology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, was recently awarded a five-year, $630,595 National Institutes of Health (NIH) R01 grant to study the role of the CHCHD10 protein in Alzheimer’s disease.
This work is an example of the Cleveland Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center’s (CADRC) impact. Case Western Reserve is a key partner institution supporting the center.
Liu is a recent graduate of the CADRC’s Research Education Component (REC) Scholar program..
The REC Core supports early-stage investigators, such as Liu in advancing their research. With this study, Liu research aims to uncover new treatment strategies and deepen our understanding of how this protein protects the brain from Alzheimer’s.
