New approach to fight Huntington’s disease shows early promise
U.S. News & World Report: Xin Qi, professor in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at the School of Medicine, talked about the discovery of a peptide from the mutant Huntington protein that controlled harmful protein interactions, showing potential to inhibit mitochondrial death. Qi’s foundational work enabled subsequent development of polymer-based delivery systems, crucial for transporting this peptide across the blood-brain barrier.
