This year’s Farm Harvest Festival will be held Saturday, Sept. 24, from 1 to 6 p.m. Located at the University Farm (37125 Fairmount Blvd., Chagrin Falls), this annual event will kick off Case Western Reserve University’s Climate Action Week to give students, faculty, staff and their families the chance to celebrate, learn about and get involved in green initiatives.
The Farm Harvest Festival is hosted by both the farm and CWRU’s Student Sustainability Council, a student organization passionate about the environment and dedicated to improving sustainability on campus.
The event will feature hayrides, guided hikes around the farm, flower crown and lip balm making, cornhole, petting goats, a tall grass maze, a mushroom demonstration, an amphibian demonstration by Michael Benard from the Department of Biology.
There also will be sustainably sourced food, including apple cider and donuts, Mitchell’s ice cream and veggie chili.
No pets are allowed (except service animals) at the event; though they are allowed on the farm other days.
Buses and shuttles will be provided to transport students from campus to the festival, leaving from Thwing Center every hour starting at 12:30 p.m. and returning back to campus from the farm when they are full. Registering on CampusGroups is required to reserve your seat on a shuttle. Registration is not required if you are driving yourself.
This event will take place rain or shine, so please dress accordingly.
