How we start the morning often sets the tone for the rest of the day. What is the first thing you do when you wake up? Read or watch the news? Rush to work? Check emails? Scroll through social media? Have a cup of coffee? Take a walk? So often we think we have to get up and go.
To help members of the Case Western Reserve University community get up and pause, One to One Fitness Center will offer “7 Days of Mindful Meditation” beginning Friday, May 1.
The sessions will begin with simple movements to prepare your body to sit, either in a chair or on the floor. Then they will move to the breath and awareness of the senses and then shift to a calm state of mind. This series with Deanna Black, certified instructor and licensed massage therapist, is open to all ages and experiences. Individuals can participate in one session or commit to attend all seven sessions.
Participants pay what they can for this class, ranging from $4 to $10 per session, and they can choose to pay for a single class or a seven-pack.
Register for the class. Those using a mobile device should select the default price to see other pricing options.
