What’s your favorite thing about CWRU?
Everyone [here] was very welcoming and helpful. Also, I love my volleyball team. I played while I was in the Navy. I was nervous about being a transfer student to a varsity team; however, my teammates were great about making me feel welcome.
Brooke Dills is always up for a challenge. That’s one of the reasons she decided to serve in the U.S. Navy from June 2018 to May 2019. “Not only [did I want to] be surrounded by the best of the best, but [I wanted] to be pushed to be better,” Dills said. “I also wanted to be a part of something bigger than myself.” An experience Dills describes as both strict and intense, she credits her service for discovering her life’s purpose: to help people. Now that she’s pursuing a pre-med education as a Spartan, Dills hopes to one day bring the same level of excellence instilled in her from the Navy to a career in medicine.
