Yoga can be a tool for easing symptoms of anxiety, stress and trauma. On Saturday, Oct. 5, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., Next Level Fitness Studio will host Yoga for Anxiety and Depression to encourage discussion and healing.
In this workshop, participants will focus on relieving anxiety and reducing stress by focusing on breathing, posture, restorative poses to quiet the mind and relax the nervous system, and guided meditation.
An instructor will introduce attendees to a suite of techniques that can help individuals find peace and calm, including breath (pranayama), movement (asana), meditation, yoga nidra (yogic sleep), and other tips and techniques that can help promote healing.
Participants will learn the tools to stay calm and grounded, and to help wind down from any type of stress.
This session is open to all ages. No yoga experience is necessary.
For students, the cost is $25 for preregistration and $30 at the door. For all others, the workshop costs $30 for preregistration and $35 at the door.
