Human Resources open forum on FLSA regulations

The Office of Human Resources will host an open forum regarding implementation of new federal labor rules at noon, Tuesday, Nov. 29, in Allen Memorial Medical Library’s Ford Auditorium.

For the past several months, the office has been working with school and unit leaders across the university regarding changes to employees’ classifications and other adjustments required by new Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) regulations.

During the session, HR leaders will provide background regarding overall FLSA-related developments. They also will review the new processes that non-exempt staff must follow in recording hours worked, among other items. These changes take effect Thursday, Dec. 1.
