The [You]Tech 2019: Inspire/Aspire conference will be held Tuesday, July 30, in the Tinkham Veale University Center on the Case Western Reserve University campus.
This daylong event will showcase the talent within the University Technology ([U]Tech) division at CWRU. Staff members of [U]Tech will step up and share their expertise, along with projects that are new and cutting edge on campus to an audience of 300+ colleagues, campus faculty, students, staff and leadership, technology professionals from regional higher-education institutions, and technology and vendor partners from Northeast Ohio.
Keynote
Jaime Casap, Google’s chief education evangelist, will deliver the keynote speech. Casap’s presentation, made possible by support from Google, will begin at 9 a.m. and include:
- Inspiring ideas related to the future of learning;
- The next generation of students;
- Retaining students as learners over a lifetime; and
- How higher education can help students convert information into intelligence.
Casap collaborates with school systems, educational organizations and leaders focused on building innovation into our education policies and practices. He serves as an adviser to dozens of organizations focused on learning, skill development and the future of work. Presentations
The keynote will be followed by approximately 30 presentations throughout the day. Topics are as far-reaching as virtual and augmented reality, security issues and Generation Z learners. There also wilI be opportunities to interact with hands-on equipment and to speak with individual presenters.
Networking Passport Challenge with prizes
One of the greatest values of a conference is connections made through professional networking. In an effort to create a multidimensional networking experience at the [You]Tech conference, guests can participate in several guided exercises throughout the day.
