Following a record-breaking telethon in 2011, campus radio station WRUW-FM looks to raise more money for the station during its weeklong telethon fundraiser April 9-15. This year marks the 45th year of WRUW on the airwaves.
Donations help fund the purchase and maintenance of music and technical equipment, including equipment in the on-air studios. They also help WRUW maintain phone lines, purchase new music, maintain its digital library and finance free events such as Studio-A-Rama. Money raised during the telethon covers more than half of WRUW’s operating costs.
All donations are tax-deductible. Pledge amounts at the $50, $60, $100 and higher will receive a special thank you, such as an anniversary T-shirt, pint glass, Tri-C Jazz Festival tickets, gift certificates and more.
