The William N. Skirball Writers Center Stage Series provides intimate access to the literary world’s best writers. The 17th season of this popular series continues Thursday, Nov. 19, with a virtual program featuring novelist Susan Choi.
Choi is the author of five novels:
- The Foreign Student, for which she won the Asian-American Literary Award for fiction;
- American Woman, which was a finalist for the 2004 Pulitzer Prize;
- A Person of Interest, which was a finalist for the 2009 PEN/Faulkner Award;
- My Education, for which she received a 2014 Lammy Award; and
- Trust Exercise, which won the 2019 National Book Award for Fiction.
A recipient of fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Guggenheim Foundation, she teaches fiction writing at Yale University.
Choi will speak at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, as part of the Cuyahoga County Public Library’s Writers Center Stage series. As the academic partner for the series, CWRU students are able to attend this virtual event for free. Students are asked to RSVP on CampusGroups by Nov. 17.
