Members of the campus community are advised that work begins Monday, Aug. 26, on the I-90 exit ramps to Martin Luther King Jr. Drive (Exit 177). During construction, both the eastbound and westbound exits will be maintained, with all lanes on the ramps open. Traffic will be shifted with construction.
Closures will happen overnight from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving toward the end of the work.
During construction, motorists should expect delays. To avoid delays, drivers are encouraged to take the E. 72nd exit (Exit 175) during commute times.
Pedestrian and bicycle traffic on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive also will be maintained during the work.
The project is expected to improve traffic flow off the ramp, add new traffic signals, improve the Harrison Dillard Bikeway and repair the sidewalk.
