Springer published work by Chris Cullis, interim chair of biology, in the series Plant Genetics and Genomics: Crops and Models.
Cullis’ contribution to the series, titled Genetics and Genomics of Linum has a focus on flax, which produces high-class fiber for linen using the stem and linseed oil using the seeds, which also have health-related properties in human and animal nutrition.
Cullis edited the book and wrote five chapters.
The book describes the extensive experimental resources available for this species, as well as the novel property that its genome can be modified in response to the growth environment.
