Women: Two sessions for faculty, staff on becoming leaders to be held Jan. 23; RSVP by Jan. 21

On Wednesday, Jan. 23, the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women will welcome Linda Carli, co-author of Through the Labyrinth: The Truth About How Women Become Leaders, to give two talks: one for women staff members and another for women faculty members.

Carli, an associate professor in the Department of Psychology at Wellesley College, will lead a discussion on how the “glass ceiling” has been replaced with a “labyrinth,” why women are in fewer leadership positions than men, and how to identify and navigate the challenges women face on the path to leadership.

Her research focuses on gender, influence and leadership. She also has developed and conducted negotiation and conflict resolution workshops for women leaders.

Carli will give her first talk, to female staff members, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the Spartan Room on the third floor of Thwing Center. A light breakfast will be provided.

She will give her second talk, to female faculty members, from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Please register to the staff talk and the faculty talk by Jan. 21.
