Celebrate Women in Leadership Week with series of events Oct. 5-11

This year’s Women in Leadership Week will be Oct. 5-11. To celebrate, there will be a series of events to highlight female leaders on campus, support women’s athletics, educate the community on popular trends, and provide networking opportunities.

The schedule of events is as follows:

  • Student Leadership Conference
    Saturday, Oct. 5, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
    Nord Hall and Sears Building
  • Women’s Soccer vs. Brandeis
    Saturday, Oct. 5, 1:30 p.m.
    Case Field
  • “Dig Pink”: CWRU Women’s Volleyball vs. Emory University
    Sunday, Oct. 6, noon
    Veale Convocation, Athletic and Recreation Center
    Attendees are encouraged to wear pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and can bring an item to donate to the Women’s Shelter to enter a raffle for prizes.
  • Women’s Shelter Donation Drive
    Monday, Oct. 7, all day
    Drop-off locations for the drive are Flora Stone Mather Center for Women and Mistletoe Residential College lounges.
  • “Money Matters”
    Tuesday, Oct. 8, 6-7 p.m.
    Pioneer Room, Wade Commons
    Attendees will learn how to create a financial plan and will speak to a professional about small business start-ups.
  • “WHAT? Wednesday” brown bag lunch
    Wednesday, Oct. 9, noon-1 p.m.
    Spartan Room, Thwing Center
    This brown bag lunch and discussion will address the topic “I Know You Want It: Blurred Lines between #Empowerment and #Objectification of Women in Popular Culture.”
  • Women in Leadership networking event (invitation only)
    Thursday, Oct. 10, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
    Thwing Center ballroom
    At this invite-only networking event, students will have the opportunity to connect with alumni, faculty and staff, as well as local professionals.
  • Women of Achievement Luncheon
    Friday, Oct. 11, 12:30-2 p.m.
    Thwing Center ballroom (registration required)

The week is sponsored by Mistletoe Residential College, Flora Stone Mather Center for Women, Corporate Relations, the Career Center, the Office of Greek Life, the Office of First Year Experience and Family Programs, Education and Student Programs, Case School of Engineering and PNC Bank.
