“Who’s Afraid of Edward Said? The Palestinians, Antisemitism, and the Culture of Silence”

The Social Justice Institute will host Ted Steinberg, the Adeline Barry Davee Distinguished Professor of History and professor of law, for a lecture titled “Who’s Afraid of Edward Said? The Palestinians, Antisemitism, and the Culture of Silence.”

The lecture will be held Tuesday, April 10, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Mandel Community Studies Center, Room 115.

Steinberg will discuss his life as a Brooklyn-born Jew, while elaborating on Edward Said’s thoughts about the Palestinian question and its place in university life. Steinberg’s talk will challenge individuals to think about diversity, equality and our common humanity in light of what he sees as one of the greatest oppressions in modern history.
