What We Do To Nature, We Do To Ourselves film screening and discussion

The Office of Local Government and Community Relations invites members of the Case Western Reserve University Community to a showing of the film What We Do To Nature We Do To Ourselves Tuesday, Oct. 1, at 7 p.m. in Strosacker Auditorium.

This full-length documentary was created as a means to inform and generate honesty, and move away from systems and legal structures that do not protect nature or ourselves. The film explores how to move toward a new system, grounded in “right relationship” with water, food, nature and each other. After the film, there will be an opportunity to engage with the panelists, and explore alternative, ethical and sustainable futures for farms and food.

The following expert bioregional panelists will participate in the discussion:

  • Ryan Bennett, coordinator of the Farm Food Program at the University Farm;
  • Kelly Clark, co-founder of Kelly’s Working Well Farm;
  • Tish O’Dell, consulting director at the Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund; and
  • Peter Whitehouse, professor of neurology, psychiatry, cognitive science, neuroscience and organizational behavior.

Free refreshments—including popcorn and fountain drinks—will be provided.

Additionally, guests can try gourmet vegan and traditional pizzas prepared by Chefs Sam (ESELGĒ) and Patrice (Damn Fine Vegan).

Registration is free, but space is limited. Sign up via CampusGroups.
