SPARC [conversations] flyerSPARC [conversations], a student-run speaker series, will continue Wednesday, March 23, at 7:30 p.m. in Thwing Center, Room 302.

SPARC is an acronym for an overarching array of topics the students hope will spark discourse—Society, Politics, Art, Research and Community.

The event, featuring a panel discussion, will address the question: What does diversity in higher education look like?

The panel will explore diversity in higher education, and how the student body can foster diversity within CWRU’s campus.

The panel is composed of:

  • Ruqaiijah Yearby, associate dean of institutional diversity and inclusiveness at the School of Law;
  • Laura Hengehold, associate professor and chair of the Department of Philosophy;
  • Christopher L. Jones, assistant vice president and director of equity in the Office for Inclusion, Diversity and Equal Opportunity; and
  • Xyla Foxlin, a sophomore studying mechanical and aerospace engineering.

Doughnuts, coffee and juice will be provided at the session.
