As an enhancement to the onboarding of new faculty and staff members, the university started hosting monthly Welcome Coffees last October 2022. Attendees enjoy a morning of coffee and pastries while learning more about the various divisions and offices of CWRU—it’s a program designed to help new staff and faculty understand what can seem to be a complex organization. Leaders from key university offices and divisions—such as the Office of Research Administration and the Division of Public Safety—explain how they can help new faculty and staff members navigate CWRU and be successful.
Ellen Glonti, a new staff member in the Department of Physiology & Biophysics, was happy to have attended the most recent Welcome Coffee, saying: “It’s important for me to understand what each department does, where on Case website to find this information, who the contact people are, what the university policies are, and what trainings are available. Also, I found the variety of topics very informative, because they helped me understand what services are available for Staff, Faculty and Students.”
All newly hired staff and faculty members will be contacted with an invitation to the next monthly Welcome Coffee. Questions? Contact Lisa Palazzo, University Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer at lxp66@case.edu.
