The offices of Postdoctoral Affairs and Graduate Student Life and the Graduate Studies Professional Development Center invite students, faculty and staff who are new to the U.S. tax system to attend a webinar today at 3 p.m. titled “Understanding the Basics of U.S. Income Tax.” An in-person version of this presentation previously scheduled for today has been canceled. Tax forms can be intimidating, and tax software doesn’t necessarily make them less confusing. Income tax laws and rules can be intricate. Fortunately, some fundamental rules and principles can help you understand what taxes are all about, from the types of taxes to exempting income. This session will help those new to U.S. tax rules get a better grasp on:
