The National Association for Business Economics (NABE) elected Jack Kleinhenz, an adjunct professor of economics, to serve as its president for the 2013-2014 term.
Kleinhenz is principal and chief economist of Kleinhenz and Associates, a Cleveland-based registered investment advisory firm that specializes in financial consulting and wealth management services. He also is chief economist of the National Retail Federation.
A NABE member since 1980 and former chairman of the NABE Foundation, Kleinhenz said he is honored to serve as the president of NABE for the coming year.
“NABE has been a major factor in my career as an economist and it is my desire to pass on the benefits and inspiration that NABE has afforded me,” he said. “In particular I would like to provide continued leadership in NABE’s professional training and education programs designed to prepare further those currently in this profession and for those yet to follow in our footsteps.”
During Kleinhenz’s term as president, NABE will launch its Certified Business Economist (CBE) program, which he has been involved in developing over several years. He recently served as chairman of NABE’s Education Steering Committee, which oversees development of the CBE program that is on track to offer its first exam in the fall of 2014.
