Mercury News: Areas of California are in the midst of a manufacturing revival, with the complex work rewarding those in the field with an average of $145,000 per year. “People say ‘manufacturing’ and you imagine some dirty person, with maybe not such a high IQ, tending some machine where their job never changes, and that’s just not the case with so much of U.S. manufacturing,” said Susan Helper, the Frank Tracy Carlton Professor of Economics.
