David Cooperrider, the Char and Chuck Fowler Professor of Business as an Agent of World Benefit and the Fairmount Santrol – David L. Cooperrider Professor in Appreciative Inquiry, was recently appointed as the faculty director of the Fowler Center for Business as an Agent of World Benefit.
Cooperrider previously held this position during the center’s initial years and helped to found the center.
He succeeds Chris Laszlo, who is stepping away from the center to concentrate on developing a school initiative in Quantum Leadership, an approach to organizational transformation driven by a “consciousness of connectedness.”
He also is a Distinguished University Professor and professor of organizational behavior.
“Now that David is returning to lead the center a second time, I look forward to seeing how he engages this opportunity amid a global context far different than when he founded the center nine years ago,” says Manoj Malhotra, dean and the Albert J. Weatherhead III Professor of Management at Weatherhead School of Management. “What I know for certain is that he will bring great enthusiasm and creativity to the work, and also seek to inspire others to recognize the great possibilities inherent in doing good and doing well.”
