Weatherhead School team takes top spot in case competition

A team from the Weatherhead School of Management placed first in the National Society of Hispanic MBAs Case Competition, organized by the Cleveland chapter of the National Society of Hispanic MBAs. Richard Estremera, a KeyBank executive and one of the judges, explained that “the quality of the delivery and the level of energy” set the team apart from the competition.

Team members Carlos Bustamante (MGT ’14), Luis Contreras (MGT ’13, finance), Sergio De Ilzarbe, (MGT ’15) and Dominique Vargas (MGT ’14) will share the $2,000 award.

According to Bustamante: “It was the support and encouragement of CMOs Meenakshi Sharma and Dr. Simon Peck that allowed our team to remain focused during some of the most challenging phases of the 45-day-long competition.”
