CBS Sunday Morning will feature a story about Violins of Hope Cleveland, airing Sunday, Dec. 6, at 9 a.m.
Violins of Hope Cleveland is a collaboration among seven leading Cleveland nonprofit partners, including Case Western Reserve University, and more than a dozen affiliate organizations that brought a master violinmaker’s collection of instruments that survived the Holocaust to Northeast Ohio to educate and inspire.
The CBS Sunday Morning team captured the initiative’s kickoff concert when the actual violins were played by members of The Cleveland Orchestra at the opening of thefirst phase of Case Western Reserve University’s Milton and Tamar Maltz Performing Arts Center at The Temple – Tifereth Israel. The segment is expected to include footage from this Violins of Hope Cleveland Opening Concert, the Violins of Hope exhibition at the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage and interviews with Violins of Hope Cleveland leadership.
Launched in October, Violins of Hope Cleveland continues into February 2016 with activities and events in Greater Cleveland. For details, visit violinsofhopecle.org/events/.
