Join residence life’s First Year Experience program for “Walk in My Shoes” today (March 29) from 6 to 8 p.m. in Tinkham Veale University Center, ballroom B.
This year’s topic is mass incarceration. The event will feature a panel discussion led by David Miller, associate professor at the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences. The panel will be composed of:
- Ed Little of Puncture The Silence;
- Avery Martens of the American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio;
- Illya McGree of Cuyahoga County’s Residential Community Corrections Program;
- George Scherma of the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland Ministry to the Incarcerated (Cleveland Prison Ministry); and
- Michael Benza, senior instructor in law at CWRU.
There will be giveaways and students can enter a raffle for:
- Dinner for two at Edwins Leadership and Restaurant Institute–Fine French Dining;
- One of three gift cards to Bloom Bakery;
- One of 24 “Walk In My Shoes” mugs.
