While the United States’ upcoming general election will officially take place Tuesday, Nov. 5, early voting options are available for registered voters. The team in Case Western Reserve University’s Center for Civic Engagement and Learning (CCEL), located in Suite 165 of the Tinkham Veale University Center, is available to help the campus community connect with voting resources and ensure their voices are heard.
Voting Early in Person
Voters registered in Cuyahoga County can cast their votes early in person at the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections, located at 2925 Euclid Ave. According to VoteOhio.gov, early in-person voting hours are as follows:
- Oct. 14-18: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Oct. 21-25: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Oct. 26: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Oct. 27: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
- Oct. 28: 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Oct. 29: 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Oct. 30–Nov. 1: 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Nov. 2: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Nov. 3: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Valid photo identification options include:
- Ohio driver’s license;
- State of Ohio ID card;
- Interim ID form issued by the Ohio BMV;
- A U.S. passport;
- A U.S. passport card;
- U.S. military ID card;
- Ohio National Guard ID card; or
- U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs ID card.
All photo IDs must have the following:
- An expiration date that has not passed;
- A photograph of the voter;
- The voter’s name, which must substantially conform to the voter’s name as it appears in the Poll List or in the Poll Book.
NOTICE: An unexpired Ohio driver license, state ID card, or interim documentation with your former address is an acceptable form of ID when your current address is in the pollbook.
Voting on Vote Early Day (Oct. 29)
Vote Early Day will take place Tuesday, Oct. 29. To facilitate the event, CCEL will offer four trips to the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections for students to vote.
Registration is required to reserve a seat in the van.
Voting by Mail
Registered voters may also vote by mail in Ohio by first requesting an absentee ballot via this page on VoteOhio.gov, or by picking up an absentee ballot request form at CCEL.
