Volunteer to help local children with their reading skills

AdvantageCLE is looking for volunteers who would be interested in helping children improve their literacy, while also providing tennis and wellness activities for the students!

AdvantageCLE recently began their after-school program in a local elementary school in Cleveland Metropolitan School District. Kids in grades 1-4 receive tutoring in literacy intervention, wellness, poetry and STEM, homework help, and tennis instruction. Reading skills are the main focus of this program, and students also participate in indoor tennis. AdvantageCLE hopes to empower students to reach their full potential on the court and in the classroom.

The program is every Wednesday from 3-4:30PM at the Mary B. Martin School down the street from CWRU’s campus. There is a flexible time requirement and volunteers are encouraged to help out when they can!

This is a great experience to put on an application or resume! Eligible volunteers must be 14-years-old or older and undergo a background check.

More information about the program can be found on AdvantageCLE’s website.
