Video: Reflect on homecoming 2019 at Case Western Reserve University

Last weekend, students, staff, faculty, alumni and families came together to celebrate Case Western Reserve University pride during the homecoming celebration. The community had several ways to join in on the celebration from the spirited parade and football game to the opportunity to learn something new during tours and academic sessions.

At the homecoming luncheon, five individuals were recognized with the 2019 Alumni Association Awards. This year’s winners were:

  • Newton D. Baker Distinguished Service Award: Sara Fields
  • Daniel T. Clancy Alumni Service Award: Nikki DiFilippo (MGT ’94
  • Young Alumni Award: JP (James Paul) Graulty (CWR ’10)
  • Professional Achievement Award: Moses Joloba (GRS ’96, GRS ’03, pathology)
  • Distinguished Alumni Award: Robert Madison (ARC ’48, HON ’04)

The football team found success during its homecoming showdown against Washington & Jefferson College with a 35-19 win, led by quarterback Drew Saxton, who had four touchdowns. The team’s defense also played a crucial role in the team’s win, backed by linebacker Joshua Smith, defensive end Dylan Zegers, safety Patrick Crossey and defensive end Cameron Brown. The team leads the Presidents’ Athletic Conference with a 4-0 conference and 5-0 overall record. Read a recap of the game.

During halftime, homecoming royalty was honored. The 10 finalists were:

  • Elizabeth Adams;
  • Nadia Barbo;
  • Marin Exler;
  • Adrian Hattan;
  • Anusha Khawaja;
  • Ola Lach;
  • Anel Mattar;
  • Michael Miller;
  • Grace Moran; and
  • Atirola Omilabu.

The winners were Nadia Barbo, Adrian Hattan and Atirola Omilabu.
