[U]Tech launches Security Awareness Video of the Month Series during National Cybersecurity Awareness Month

October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month. Each year, University Technology ([U]Tech) takes this opportunity to raise awareness about digital security, and to empower all members of the Case Western Reserve University community to protect personal and institutional data.

Beginning this month, [U]Tech will launch a Security Awareness Video of the Month Series— “Secure in 60 Seconds”—for faculty, staff and students.

This month’s video is “The Danger Finger,” which features messaging encouraging everyone to remember to “think before you click.” Individuals should hover their mouse or finger over embedded links to evaluate where the link actually goes before clicking it. Taking a couple seconds to verify the trustworthiness of a website can save you (and the university) from hours of hassle and lost dollars.

To report a security issue, contact the service desk at 216.368.HELP, submit a ticket at help.case.edu, or reach out to UTech Information Security directly via email at security@case.edu.
