CWRU has established a Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS) Committee to address compliance in university operations. The committee has designated the Office of the Treasurer as the overall approval authority for any PCI-DSS payment processing on campus. All payment card processing supporting university business must be configured for secure and compliant operation before receiving approval to operate by the Office of the Treasurer.
The policy governing PCI-DSS Compliance has been recently revised and is published on the University Technology website.
The overall strategy outlined by the PCI-DSS policy is to outsource all payment card processing off-site to PCI compliant vendors.
