Women faculty: Discuss issues related to accents, language and culture in communication

Have you ever faced bias because of a “different” accent? What are some tips to get people to listen to what you have to say? What role does culture play in communication?

Sarah de Swart, associate director of UCITE, will discuss these issues and provide resources for women faculty at a discussion titled “Accents, Language, and Culture.”

The event will take place Monday, March 30, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women, Suite 248 in the Tinkham Veale University Center. RSVP online.

The Center for Women and the Asian Women Faculty Group will sponsor the discussion.
