Poet Andrea Gibson’s poetry addresses sexuality, spirituality, love, war and other controversial issues, and the University Program Board is bringing her to campus for the Poetry Jam this Thursday, Feb. 16, to share her message. The event will begin at 6 p.m. at The Spot.
After her half-hour performance, Andrea Gibson, along with a Department of English faculty member, will judge a poetry competition with submissions from Case Western Reserve University undergraduates. The winner of the contest will get a $50 gift card, and second and third place also will receive gift cards.
The event is open to the entire Case Western Reserve University community, including faculty members and graduate students, but only undergraduate students can compete.
Attendees can enjoy free cheesecake and cannoli from Presti’s and free coffee and hot chocolate from Starbucks.
