In its 2016 ratings, U.S. News and World Report: America’s Best Colleges ranked Case Western Reserve University No. 37 among more than 270 national universities.
Case Western Reserve University was ranked No. 42 on U.S. News and World Report’s Best Values charts.

According to the 2016 rankings, Case Western Reserve is rated as the best university in the state of Ohio.
Top Graduate Schools and Programs
Over the past five years, a number of graduate and professional programs at Case Western Reserve University have topped U.S. News and World Report’s Best Graduate Schools charts, including health law at No. 9, social work at No. 9 and biomedical engineering at No. 15.
The report also ranked Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine 24th in the nation in research, placing it highest among Ohio medical schools.

Research Rankings
Case Western Reserve University also ranks among the country’s leading research institutions. The NSF Survey of Research and Development Expenditures rated Case Western Reserve 13th among private institutions and 26th among all in federal expenditures for science and engineering research and development (NSF/ FY 2008).
In addition, Case Western Reserve was ranked 12th among U.S. medical schools in awards from NIH (FY 2005). The School of Medicine’s research programs have also received high marks:
