Case Western Reserve University staff can get a head start on their Thanksgiving weekend as administrative offices close at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23. Those affected will be paid as if they worked a full day. It is part of a larger effort to show gratitude for the contributions employees make to the university.
As in past years, caveats apply:
- All administrative offices must maintain coverage until 3 p.m. Wednesday.
- Any employee wishing to leave before 3 p.m. must use vacation time in whole-day or half-day increments.
- Non-exempt employees unable to leave early because of the nature of their responsibilities may take off two alternate hours during the week of Nov. 28, or, if their supervisor prefers, receive two hours of overtime pay.
- Employees who call off sick or have taken a vacation day Nov. 23 must take a full sick or vacation day.
University offices also are closed Thanksgiving Day and the following day (Thursday, Nov. 24, and Friday, Nov. 25).
Those with questions about the early dismissal should email AskHR@case.edu.
