University Center for Innovation in Teaching and Education Session: Getting off to a good start

Even though the beginning of the academic year can be hectic, it is also the best time to think about ways to get your class off to the best start possible.

Research has shown that paying extra attention to these first few weeks of classes can establish helpful patterns for both students and faculty.

The first University Center for Innovation in Teaching and Education session of this fall will provide tips on things you can do to make the semester go more smoothly and address any concerns that you might have.

In addition, suggestions on how to get more engagement from your students and how to encourage them to read and write better will be covered.

This session will be held Thursday, Sept. 1, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Allen Memorial Medical Library’s Herrick Room (use Adelbert Road doors).

Pizza and sodas will be provided at this session.
