Unified Sports-Youth Alliance Leadership Conference

Spartans for Special Olympics will host the Unified Sports-Youth Alliance Leadership Conference Tuesday, April 17, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Tinkham Veale University Center.

The group will provide leadership tips and host team-bonding activities to teach children from Cleveland schools and athletes from Special Olympics of Ohio useful leadership skills to take back into their communities.

There will also be speakers throughout the conference from Milestones, Arc of Greater Cleveland and more.

Those who plan to attend should email ame94@case.edu.

About the conference

Unified Sports connects people with and without intellectual disabilities to play on the same team. It was inspired by a simple principle: Training together and playing together is a quick path to friendship and understanding. Children with disabilities are part of something bigger, playing for a common goal: to compete and win. The conference builds self-esteem and fosters confidence. Children with disabilities feel authenticated in an actual athletic role and environment.
