The Center for International Affairs will host a discussion titled “Understanding War and Peace in the Middle East” Friday, Oct. 7, at 4 p.m. in Schmitt Auditorium.
Amine Gemayel, president of Lebanon from 1982 to 1988, will lead the discussion on why the Middle East has continued to struggle with war and is unable to find peace and sovereignty in their own countries.
Gemayel was elected to the presidency after his brother, Bachir Gemayel, who had been elected the previous month, was assassinated.
This free event is sponsored by the Center for International Affairs; The Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Equal Opportunity; Cleveland Council for World Affairs; and the Kataeb Chapter of Cleveland.
