Sarah Zigo and Amber Akhter, both senior undergraduate students, recently took a trip to Washington, D.C. for the Partners In Health: ENGAGE Hill Day event.
Zigo, who is majoring in medical anthropology and biology, and Akhter, who is majoring in biochemistry, met with the offices of Rep. Jan Schakowsky, Rep. Shontel Brown, Rep. Troy Balderson and Sen. Sherrod Brown to advocate for the Paul Farmer Memorial Resolution.
The resolution would increase the United States’ global health spending budget and calls for reforms in global health aid.
Zigo and Akhter are executive members of the Case Western Reserve University chapter of Partners In Health: ENGAGE.
